Be recognised for your existing skills and knowledge! Sunshine Coast TAFE offers you the opportunity to apply for credits towards part of your program. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) can fast-track you to recognised qualifications with less time undertaking formal study for the content you already know. It's as simple as providing work samples, and records of workplace activities, supervisor reports or previous certificates and qualifications.
Sunshine Coast TAFE students are offered direct access to University of Southern Queensland (USQ) for selected programs, and opportunities to undertake dual programs with University of the Sunshine Coast (USC). With pathways to university on offer, you can prepare yourself for a brighter future, today. University graduates may also articulate to Sunshine Coast TAFE to gain the practical and industry-based skills and competencies to complement degree qualifications and gain a competitive advantage in the workforce over other graduates.

Provide high-level, practical managerial employment skills that are well respected with employers. Advanced diplomas and diplomas also may allow you to articulate to university, assist with upgrading skills or re-entry into the workforce at a more qualified level, and generally take the equivalent of 12 months to two years full-time.
Ranging from level I to IV, Certificates help develop skills in specific fields, enhance employment skills or provide a stepping stone to re-enter the workforce or change career path. They also provide articulation to the next level qualification and generally take the equivalent of six to 18 months full-time.
Awarded for successfully completed components of Certificates, Diplomas or Advanced Diploma programs and nationally accredited short courses. As well as full-time and part-time on-campus study options, Sunshine Coast TAFE also offers a range of flexible, online and blended learning approaches to deliver training to suit your individual learning styles and needs.
Flexible delivery refers to a range of approaches that give you a choice on what, when, where and how you learn. It may include online learning or distance learning.
Blended delivery refers to courses that offer various modes of delivery to suit learning outcomes and your individual learning style. These include combinations of face-to-face, online, distance or industry-based learning.
Correspondence is flexible learning where you study at your own pace. After enrolment, you are sent learning resources and assessment items to complete within the guidelines of the program. Assessment items are completed then returned for grading.
Apprenticeships and traineeships are a great way to combine training with working in a real job, for a real boss, with a real wage.
Traineeships vary in length from 12 months to three years, and training happens at work and Sunshine Coast TAFE. Apprenticeships usually take four years.
